It is March 1 so…it’s springtime to me –technically 20 days to go but I say let’s embrace it now! There’s colorful fun everywhere I look – whether out in nature or in stores – and I am loving it! I had to make a Dollar Tree run for some things recently and I decided while I was there I would hunt the store for my favorite 10 Dollar Tree Must Have’s for Spring and share them with YOU my lovely readers! I know not every Dollar Tree has the exact same products, but the one I go to isn’t the biggest or newest one out there so I’d say if they had these things…yours should too! I can’t vouch for longevity of all these products because not all of them I needed but I did buy a few and will notate those and how I like them so far! I was thinking during my hunt…what would my readers love to see they can get for just $1 at their local Dollar Tree.
So join my hunt and remember – no prices listed because everything is always $1! And not everything at a dollar store is always a deal so I was mindful of that too. I tried to pick things you couldn’t grab anywhere else for $1 or even close!
Oddly enough, most of my finds ended up falling into some common categories: Stylish Storage/Containers, Gardening, Play for Kids, and Fun with Beverages!
Stylish Storage/Containers
I start with this category because who doesn’t need to organize more ?!? Well I do…maybe I should just speak for myself! But this is one statement we can all agree on…isn’t organizing more fun when you can use pretty things to do it? I feel like my blogging buddy Abby at Just a Girl and Her Blog would agree – she is always a pretty organizing genius! Click HERE to see her entire Organization section on the blog.
Anyways…back to the goods…so these first baskets were about 1 foot deep, 5″ tall and about 8″ wide. Perfect for a kids room, craft room, etc. I loved the delicate designs and the fun colors!
These lil beauties were just so cute I couldn’t resist. They are a basic 2 drawer tower about 4″ across and about 3″ tall. If my baby girl was old enough or had enough hair to use barrettes or clips, I think they could be adorable for something like that in a bathroom or bedroom. But the possibilities for these are really endless! And again, FUN colors in them. So bright and cheery.
These cutie patootie cup/containers are the disposable type to be used for party snacks and such. But I think that they could be a fun thing to have around the house for special snacks for your kiddos or desserts on stay in movie nights. So many fun ways to use them and the patterns are so well designed. Can’t resist!
Gardening
I wouldn’t be my mother’s daughter if springtime didn’t mean gardening to me! I love the idea of passing along that love of the outdoors to my baby girl through growing flowers, vegetables, and more from a seed. What a miracle God created in growth and new life of nature! So to go along with this…believe it or not the dollar store has seed packets, 4 for $1! I say even if only 1 or 2 of each collection blooms, what a fun easy weekend or after school hands-on learning activity!
And of course to go along with gardening…cute gloves! My mom taught me to never be afraid to get my fingernails and hands a little dirty when I garden. BUT she also wouldn’t pass up a cute pair of gardening gloves for 1 dang dollar.
Play for Kids
Pretty sure bubbles never get old! We just discovered on a warm day that our lil one year old loves them – as we do them for her of course. The day we did them, my husband joked that he wasn’t sure if I was having more fun or if baby girl was. It was true – they are magical and the Dollar Tree has the hook up for myriads of bubble blowing mechanisms…technical sounding I know!
Jumping rope is always a fun good way to get kids more active and outdoors. And this jump rope – more for Easter bunny theme than spring in general – but come on! Those carrot handles are too cute!!! I couldn’t resist having this in my top 10 for $1 play items.
This was a last minute find! Not usually the most fond of pink but now as a mom of a girl I feel more drawn to it because I want her to have all the colors at her disposal to pick her favorite. And this strawberry colander was just too cute. I have it in the kids play section because I plan to use it as a bath toy but you could use it for its actual purpose if you really wanted to…I guess.
Stylish Beverages
My husband and I love our Coca-Cola and when I was perusing the glassware section to actually find milk jars – which I sadly didn’t – I found these! They are in the shape of a can of Coca-Cola but a glass! Can you say classy! What a fun novelty item for just $1 – we love them so far!
Last but not least…who doesn’t want a fresh fun colorful new water bottle to enter into spring with! I do! Aren’t these bottles perfect for spring? Now I can’t say if they are well insulated or not, but sometimes you just want something pretty and if it isn’t all the way practical…who cares!
