A Baby’s Colorful Christmas

I remember as a kid, one of my favorite parts about the Christmas decorations was how my parents would light up my room with tons of lights and garland draped around the whole room of every color! The main decorations in the house were more traditional but my room was fun, colorful, and festive and that is how I wanted to do our baby girl’s first Christmas room. Plus I had a lot of random colorful décor from years past that didn’t go with our rustic reds theme so where could be more perfect than in her room!

Come with me on the tour! So before you even enter her room, you will see a fun sparkly wreath with jingle bells, ornaments, ribbons and a cute lil random bird (which is ironic because birds kind of became the side theme in her nursery). This wreath was one I made for my room when I’d come home from college for Christmas and it has made it all this way to be here on her door – love that!

Once you enter the room you can first look to the right and see her little colorful sparkly Christmas oasis. Her repurposed window into chalkboard was graced with some fun colorful garland with intertwined felt garland from Target dollar section. I love love love those colorful little bulbs.

And then last minute I decided to throw in some very cute but tiny battery powered twinkle lights that would be easy to pop on and off and not add another cord to keep away from her. They turned out just glorious and add fun Christmas ambience at night.

On the shelf of her chalkboard, I finally found a spot for a favorite sparkly silver and white Christmas tree that was in my grandma’s house growing up. I was struggling to find a good place for it and this room was calling for it! The candle is always in her room but definitely goes with it all so I threw it on up there too!

On top of her shelving below I repurposed a table runner I’ve had from Pier 1 as a draping of color to change up the space. It isn’t your traditional use for a table runner I know, but who says everything has to be traditional in a kid’s room – and look at the cute lil snowmen on the side!!!

Then I put this fun MERRY sign on top next to her new vintage record player that happens to match with the red and green coloring!

Underneath on the first shelf I put her little Christmas books so they are easy to access.

Last but not least, I framed her window in more fun colorful garland and then some Christmas tree felt garland again from Target dollar section!

I just love how it all turned out – makes me happy when we take her in every time and I can only hope it brings her little heart joy and I cannot wait to build on it for years to come!
